Reinventing the Monster Collection

🕒 Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

In many games, monster or creature collection relies on a simple principle: capture as many monsters as possible, often in the manner of Pokémon or Palworld. If this model works well, Sidyq chooses to deviate from the beaten path and offer a deeper and more rewarding experience.

🎯 Combat rewards drive collection

Rather than a traditional capture system, Sidyq relies on combat drop rewards. This simplifies and speeds up the farming process, which isn't weighed down by an additional game mechanic.

The level of the creature and its quality align with combat parameters, combined with the randomness of the drop enhances the thrill of end-of-combat rewards.

Activating curses and completing challenges increase the chances of obtaining new creatures.

🏆 Mastery: collecting to play and progress

Collecting alone is not enough: you also need to play and master your monsters.

The mastery system rewards captured and actively used monsters in combat. This avoids accumulation becoming a goal in itself, and encourages experimenting with different creatures, evolving them, and fully utilizing their potential.

🔬 Lab: fusion and optimization

To complete the collection, Sidyq offers a unique lab:

  • It allows for monster fusion, offering an alternative way to obtain creatures
  • It also serves for optimization: by sacrificing monsters you no longer want to keep, you can improve your favorite creatures and fine-tune your team.

This system adds additional dynamics to the collection, making it evolving and strategic.

✨ Transcendence and Invocation: valuing investment

Finally, to reward long-term player engagement, Sidyq introduces transcendence and invocation mechanics. These systems allow for:

  • Sacrificing a monster of maximum level and quality
  • The ability to reinvoke it at any time with a custom level and quality

This allows for freeing up inventory space, but also for managing your lab experiences.

So, the collection becomes not only an aesthetic or strategic pleasure, but also a real progression lever.

With these mechanics, Sidyq redefines monster collecting: a delicate balance between reward, active gameplay, strategy, and permanent evolution.
