Maintaining Balance in Sidyq

🕒 Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

Balance is a crucial factor in Sidyq : it determines the enjoyment of play and the quality of progression.

A marked imbalance can quickly create frustration, break the diversity of compositions, or establish a stagnant meta where only certain monsters dominate.

🚫 No absolute power, no early game monsters

The fundamental principle of Sidyq is simple but powerful : there are no rare or early game monsters that are weaker.

Each creature is designed to be on an equal footing, regardless of its moment of appearance or difficulty of acquisition.

This ensures that all combinations remain rich, viable and interesting, and that progression does not come at the expense of diversity.

🛠️ Internal balancing tools

Behind the scenes, Sidyq uses several tools to maintain this balance :

  • Stat scaling control, which ensures that all monsters grow in power proportionally as levels increase
  • Balanced archtype distribution, to maintain tactical diversity and avoid dominant archtypes
  • Precise sort management and power, with adapted costs and effects

These mechanisms prevent the emergence of a stagnant meta, and encourage creative composition.

📊 Data analysis, player feedback, and internal testing

Balance is a continuous and iterative process.

We regularly analyze :

  • The automatically collected game data (monster performance, win rates, popular compositions)
  • Player feedback and surveys
  • Internal test observations

These information allow us to detect potential imbalances, identify overpowered or underpowered mechanics, and adjust parameters accordingly.

The goal is clear : maintain a fair, varied, and always stimulating game, where every monster and every strategy can shine.
